This is it: the moment we've all been waiting for. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERFESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST!!!!!!!!!!!

But first! You'll need a good base coast for all that beer. And there is of course an after party. We'll see you guys there!

Peppino's Downtown is doing a Michigan Beer draft special all week for GR Beer Week. It includes 8 Michigan drafts all $3.50 a pint.

For happy hour they are all $2.50 a pint and $3.50 for a tall. On draft they have Perrin Brewing’s Black Lager, among others.

As part of "Cool Brews, Hot Eats," Trillium Haven will be featuring a pairing with Perrin Brewing’s Black Lager (while supplies last) followed by Perrin's IPA from February 18 through March 2, and will also feature a selection of other Grand Rapids beer pairings throughout.

Vitale's of Comstock Park will turn over their entire tap system to feature 32 Michigan beers starting Feb 11th and running through at least the 23rd.

Help us celebrate the birthdays of West Michigan brewing pioneers - New Holland's Brett VanderKamp & Fred Bueltmann and long time Michigan Brewmaster Steve Berthel on MBG Winter Beer Fest Eve.

Billy's will be featuring three New Holland Beers on draft and a collaborative beer, Water Sign Wheat IPA made with 100% Michigan hops and malt, between Vander, The Beervangelist and Bert.

Featuring: Mad Hatter, Poet, Sundog, Dragon’s Milk New Holland is the featured Michigan Brewers for Grand Rapids Beer Week.

~Beer City Craft Beer Social at The B.O.B., 5:30 p.m.
In celebration of Beer City USA's 2nd Annual Beer Week, The B.O.B. will be hosting a Craft Beer Dinner, featuring expertly prepared tavern fare from Gilly's at The B.O.B. paired with unique offerings from 19 craft beer breweries.

~Strolling Beer Dinner with GRBC, Brewery Vivant and HopCat, 6-10 p.m.
The strolling dinner with Grand Rapids Brewing Company, HopCat and Brewery Vivant will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $100 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) at each of the three sites. Attendance is limited to 60 guests with 20 tickets being sold at each venue.

Strolling dinner guests will receive a one-of-a-kind Menage a Trois beer chalice, a ride on the "HopCat Express" between venues and a seven-course dinner. Two courses will be served at each brewpub as attendees make their way through the tour with the seventh course being dessert served upon returning to their starting site. Special dessert and bourbon barrel-aged variation of Menage a Trois also will be available exclusively at the dinner event.

Join the New Holland crew for a tap takeover at Derby Station the Thursday before the Michigan Brewers Guild Winter beer festival. Come celebrate the release of the brewery's first beer Paleooza, a Michigan Pale Ale made with all Michgian hops from Empire as well as a Monkey King Saison a new year-round offering. Derby will also be pouring Cabin Fever Brown ale, New Holland's winter seasonal, and mainstay brands Dragon's Milk and Imperial Mad Hatter.

On Beer Week Wednesday, check out the beer reveal in B.O.B’s Brewery at The B.O.B., featuring their new Michigan Chestnut Beer, a Michigan malt made with Michigan Hopson and Michigan chestnuts.

~Dark Horse Tasting at Siciliano's, 4-6 p.m.
Featuring the mainstays plus some special releases. A rep will be on-hand to talk about the beer.


~Odd Side Ales Night at HopCat, 5 p.m.
HopCat welcomes Odd Side Ales to GR for hump night! Come out and meet the crew from Grand Haven's best brewery.

Featured drafts include: Citra Pale Ale with passion fruit and chipotle, Mayan Mocha, One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer, and one more special treat picked by Odd Side.

~Right Brain Tap Takeover at Stella's Lounge, 6 p.m.
This will be Right Brain’s largest tap takeover ever!

As part of "Cool Brews, Hot Eats," Trillium Haven will be featuring a pairing with Perrin Brewing’s Black Lager (while supplies last) followed by Perrin's IPA from February 18 through March 2, and will also feature a selection of other Grand Rapids beer pairings throughout.


~All-Michigan Tap Takeover at Vitale's of Comstock Park (ongoing through February 23)
Vitale's of Comstock Park will turn over their entire tap system to feature 32 Michigan beers starting Feb 11th and running through at least the 23rd.

What's Brewing for Beer Week: Tuesday, February 19


TUESDAY, 2/19

~Harmony Brewing's Take on a Tap Takeover
Harmony will be throwing a tap takeover extravaganza for Beer Week. They will have four very fine brews in addition to six of their own.

The guest features will be:
*O'Briens Irish Red from Rockford Brewing Company (first time available outside of Rockford!) - 4%ABV
*Tall Boy American Lager from Pike 51 Brewing Company - 5.6%ABV
*Kiss My Scottish Arse Scotch Ale from Schmoz Brewery - 8.85%ABV
*Black IPA from Jaden James - 6%ABV

Brewers and owners from some of the breweries participating will be here to talk about their beer, or beer in general. Since this event happens on Tuesday, like every other Tuesday at Harmony, they will have their hand-crafted wood-fired cheese and peperoni pizzas for $5 and $6, respectively.

Harmony will also be featuring a special pizza for Cool Brews, Hot Eats. It will feature beer braised mushroom ragout, pork shoulder, arugula, red onions, and hop goat cheese. Paired beer suggestion: the Battle Cat White IPA, which will be on tap!

~Pike 51 "Batch 51" Release Party
In celebration of GR Beer Week, Pike 51 will be releasing Batch 51, the first beer in their 51 Series, and their contribution to the Beer City Grand Series. This beer is an 11.2% Rye Wine (think hugely hoppy barleywine made with a bunch of rye). Intense and citrusy hops, rich maltyness and some warming alcohol in the back...yeah.

They will also release 2 very limited beers: Knight's on Mastodons (Knight's Brown with ROWSTER New American Coffee Mastodon coffee), and a very special sixth barrel of Sinister Kid Imperial Porter aged with spice roasted hazelnuts. Yummers.

Oh, and food too! Logistics aren't finalized yet, but there's whispers of brats and pretzel bread sticks and Chef Tim's awesome German potato salad.

~Michigan Beer Specials All Day and Night at Logan's Alley
It is what it says. Logan's Alley's chef will be putting together a tasting menu for this event so it will be like a mini beer dinner!

~Founders Brewing Co. Night at HopCat, 5 p.m.
Founders is moving in for the night so HopCat is breaking out the stash.

10 Featured Drafts: 2010 KBS, 2011 Backwoods, 2012 Bolt Cutter, 2012 Devil Dancer, 2013 Curmudgeon, Porter, Red’s Rye, Pale, 2013 Imperial Stout, and a Taproom Specialty, plus Founders Pale Ale is the featured $3 pint frpm 6-9pm.

~Beertails, Brews and Bites at Louis Benton Steakhouse, 5-8 p.m.
Join New Holland Brewing Co. for an evening of “Beer, Beer Cocktails and Bites” as well as conversation with Beer Captain Adam Dickerson.

New Holland will be releasing new brands as a part of GR Beer Week, one beer being Paleooza, an all-Michigan Pale Ale. Paired appetizers will be accompanying the beer cocktails and beers. This is not a formal sit-down dinner and the event is located in the newly renovated Louis Benton Lounge.

Beers available will be: Full Circle, Mad Hatter, Monkey King, Paleooza, Sundog, Dragon’s Milk. Featuring cocktails made with New Holland spirits.

~Perrin Brewing Co. "Beard City USA" Beer Dinner with Beardcore at Stella's, 6 p.m.
When: Tuesday, February 19, 2013
Time: 6pm
Who: Perrin Brewing and Beardcore
Cost: $25/person, 30-count capacity, reserve or buy tickets at Stella’s in advance 

3 course dinner.

Drafts: Golden Ale, Double IPA, Black Lager.

After dinner there will be beard competition on the dance floor of the Viceroy dance club with Rush Beardcore (founder of Beardcore), Jarred (owner of Perrin Brewing) and a TBA announced 3rd judge. 3 categories for competition: best stache, best beard, independent category (crazy, costumes, extreme all welcome). Prizes are Perrin/Beardcore swag. Sign up for the competition at beginning of beer dinner.

GR Beer Week is officially upon us! We know we have a lot of events for you to navigate through the next several days and we want to make this as easy on you as possible. You can refer to our events listings at any point in time for a full run-down of all the hop-penings around town (organized by day), plus we'll highlight everything going on each day every morning so you can plan your day accordingly. MONDAY, 2/18

~Dark Horse Tap Occupation at Logan's Alley, 7 a.m.
Brewery reps will be on-hand throughout the day. This one starts at 7am and goes 'til close. 5 Dark Horse Taps: Amber, Tres Blueberry, Thirsty Trout, Plead the 5th, Double Crooked Tree Logan's Alley's chef will be putting together a tasting menu for this event so it will be like a mini beer dinner!

~Founders Tasting at Siciliano's, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Featuring the mainstays plus a few surprises. A rep will be on hand to talk about the beer.

~Michigan Beer Specials All Day and Night at Graydon's Crossing
It is what it says. Graydon's Crossing's chef will be putting together a tasting menu for this event so it will be like a mini beer dinner!

~Right Brain Tap Takeover at Tavern on the Square
Right Brain Brewery Founder and Owner Russell Springsteen will be here hanging out. Beers on draft: Will Power, Satisfaction, Northern Hawk Owl, CEO Stout. No entry fee.

~Hudsonville Beer Night at HopCat, 5 p.m.
HopCat is bringing Hudsonville to Grand Rapids for the night.

White Flame Brewing Co. and Pike 51 Brewing Co. are splitting a tower for the night and bringing four of their best drafts each. Party starts at 5pm.

Pike 51 featured drafts: Super Kush, Sabotage Milk Stout, Batch 51 Rye Wine and Jeff's super-secret squirrel beer to be announced.

White Flame featured drafts: Black Flame BA Imperial Stout, Big Willy BA Double IPA, Ugly Stick Oatmeal Stout, & Super G IPA
